Every now and then, a game comes along that perfectly fits my favorite genres and ticks all the right boxes. YUKI Space Ranger, a bullet hell roguelite with incredibly addicting and fun gameplay, mesmerizing level design, lots of permanent and temporary upgrades, excellent techno music, incredible boss fights, and a great sense of retro arcade nostalgia, is one of those games.
The UI, transition screens, and visuals are top-notch. The mixed reality experience is fun, but it could be better. However, it's a bonus game mode that's especially enjoyable with the Meta Quest 3.
It's rare to find a game as polished as YUKI. My only issue was the sometimes confusing ability (shield/freeze), which differs between the two controllers. Other than that, YUKI is perfectly executed and highly recommended for fans of bullet hell games, roguelites, and great VR action games.
