Who would have thought that the most fun you could have with a Quest 2 would be knocking balls back and forth with a tennis-playing robot? And yet here we are.

This is brilliantly done. The mechanics feel really nice (though the power with which the ball is struck isn’t always easy to gauge). The graphics are good. This is the first game I’ve played where I have arms. They’re an improvement over my actual arms, so I like that.

The robot is rather endearing - I hope it won’t be replaced with human avatars for the AI in the final version.

At the moment there’s no scoring and no actual matches - you’re just having a knockabout. But it’s oddly compelling. It’s not as intense as the more frenetic fitness games, but you will sweat.

I’ve only used the teleportation option for movement - I’m sure the others would be a one-way trip to nausea city for me - but it works very well. It means that playing this game feels a lot like Wii Tennis, as you’re focused mainly on hitting the ball rather than getting yourself into position.

This game feels more real and immersive than any other experience I’ve had on the Quest 2. I’m really looking forward to how it develops.
