So yesterday was my first experience with Happy Run! and it was a good one. Used the Quest 2 and my treadmill, completed a 5K run @ 5.5 mph pace. How was it? Well it was exciting and fun for the most part. The automatic snap turn will mess you up however, because it isn’t smooth and you’re running in real life, when the screen changes suddenly when turning, your brain is expecting you to actually be turning direction as well, except you aren’t, because you’re running in a straight direction on a treadmill. It took about a mile to get adjusted to that. I compensated by keeping my right hand on the hand rail and letting my left arms swing naturally. It helped, but overall, I’d recommend the developer find a way to make the bends in the trails and direction change a smooth natural turn vs snap turn.

Also, I’d like to see my changes in paths. It seems like I completed the same loop twice. I noticed I went on a different path at one point though.

When I finished my run, there wasn’t any way for me to exit back to the menu. I had to force close it, so I don’t know if my progress was saved.

Last thing, the music stopped playing after about 10 minutes and despite trying to toggle the music on and off in the menu setting, it would not come back on.

Overall, it’s got some bugs and polishing to clean up, but it’s a fun and highly recommended experience. Be careful running on the treadmill if you aren’t really experienced in VR and have good legs for it lol.
