Physics Sword Fighting, Done Right

The Swordsman is a physics based VR sword fighting game. Now I know there are all ready a few out on the market, but this one adds some new elements to the mix. Swordsman is more then just a sandbox sword fighting game. The game offers a story mode, stretch across four different fighting areas. Each with its own level to progress through. Boss fights, where you can earn their ability if you defeat them. The arena mode is still there as well if you just want to make some heads roll.

Besides the story, the game now offers RPG elements, where we can earn XP to improve our stats. This is a nice feature and gives some something to build on. You also earn money, which can be used to buy and upgrade your weapons and armor. These are really great feature, i would like to see added to other sword fighting games. It gives you goals to reach for, and customize your fighter.

The combat feels great. The weapon physics are spot on, and the swings, stabs and blocks feel real. The movement system is nice. With smooth locomotion and room scaling, you will dance around your enemies and take them down. This makes the game very immersive.

With the excellent combat, comes a good workout as well. I was dripping in sweat after playing. If you are looking for a great physics based sword fighting game, with more then just sandbox killing, this title is worth checking out.
