Totally exceeded my expectations in every way! The physics in most games is done well enough to make you feel like you are really playing the games, and surprisingly provides a reasonable workout, the extent to which depends on which particular activity you choose. Excellent value for money given you have 10 sports to choose from. The graphics are really quite decent, somewhat better than I expected in fact. The weak link for me is the baseball, particularly the pitching. There doesn’t appear to have been much effort put in to making the game throw reflect actual physical motion of the controller. Aside from that no complaints with the game play and physics. I have been waiting for a VR pool game for some time, Sports Bar in PSVR is ok but limited due to the tethered headset and relatively poor tracking. The limiting factor of the Quest/Quest 2 is the lack of rear cameras, hence you have to hold the pool cue further forward than you normally would in real life, but that isn’t the fault of the developers. The ball halts slightly more abruptly than it should, but quite trivial as it doesn’t really effect gameplay. Overall really well designed, and really makes you feel like you are actually playing pool. Despite other reviews I found the darts quite accurate, perhaps there has been a recent update to improve the physics of the dart game. The graphics of the games are pretty decent, somewhat better than I expected.
Surprisingly need very little space to play all the games, a lot of thought has gone into overcoming the problem of limited space by clever game design.
I can’t comment on multiplay as not into that. Happy just to play the bots.
I don’t understand why this isn’t already on the Oculus Store, but no doubt it will be soon. Certainly no apparent reason why it shouldn’t be. Given how brilliant this app is it’s a shame I had to deduct one star. The reason? Requiring internet connection to play! No Need! Will add back a star if they reverse this pointless policy. Shame.
