In Norrath, the journey from the city of Qeynos to Freeport was one that many adventurers braved early in their careers. It was a trek that spanned the entire width of Antonica. This custom home will attempt to recreate this experience in VR. Though, there will be no zone lines, and you won't have to worry about creatures attacking you. Your speed will be roughly that of your adventurer running with a Spirit of Wolf buff. Even still, the full journey will take roughly a half hour to complete end-to-end.
There are two different versions. One is "smooth" locomotion; the environment will move, though it will not rotate. This kind of movement can cause motion sickness for those who are susceptible. For that reason, there is also "teleport" version. Each has a silent version and one that has a background melody of music interspersed with some silence.
NOTE
Due to an issue with the SideQuest app at the time of publishing, only one APK variation can be installed through the app ("Sideload Now" button in the desktop client). Currently that is the smooth locomotion version with music. If you want to install a different version, you'll have to use the APK links below.

FAQ
Q: What versions of Quest will this work on?
I was able to test it on Quest 2 and 3. Neither device showed any issues with performance.
Q: When I load the environment it will start me at a random point in the middle. Is there any way to force it to start from the beginning?
Not that I know of. Switching environments, or even rebooting does not seem to reset it.
Q: Why don't you have contextualized music and sound?
Unlike the animation itself, the background music will always start at the beginning. There is no way to keep the animation and music/sound synchronized.
Q: Why is the view distance so short?
I used the limited view distance to cut down on the amount of geometry. That clipping distance should be a close approximation of what the EQ client was capable of back in the day though!
Q: What tools did you use to make this?
A tool called LanternExtractor to export assets from the EQ client files. From there I can import them into Blender. There was also a lot of additional coding and scripting involved.
