The Final Overs
I want this to be good, but at the moment, it is average. I am very passionate about cricket, so I am willing this game and the developers on! It's a good start, but needs work. I have noticed a few things in my short time of playing it, so here is some constructive feedback:
- You can't be out if the ball hits your helmet and the wicket keeper catches it! The ball has to come off your bat.
- I hit a 6 and it counted it as a 4.
- The bat doesn't sit very well in the hand. I know there is an adjuster for this, but it still doens't feel natural. It feels very hard to play a straight bat shot as the bat sits skewed in your hand.
- Sounds off the bat need to be better for a more satisfying feel when you crunch a boundary.
- Bowlers pace need to vary - the spinners spit off the pitch as fast as the quicks!
- The ball seems to bounce very high. A lot of the time it was hitting the top of my bat handle. Maybe drop the bounce a bit unless it's a short pitched bouncer.
- When you press and hold your Oculus button, your location should be the batting/bowling crease, not the stumps. This means you have to move forwards nearly a metre which is not good if you are playing in a 2m x 2m boundary.
- Probably the most annoying thing - if you lose 2 wickets, the game is over! Why?! There are 11 players in a cricket team. The game shouldn't be over unless you lose 10 wickets.
- For realism (although some people might not like this) you should be able to knock your stumps over with your bat which would mean you would be out.
Like I said, not a bad beginning. Fingers crossed it improves :)
