Great fun playing and great fun watching someone else playing, casting is recommended for having a few laughs at the expense of the player, especially on later levels. 馃槃
I鈥檓 playing in full room scale (approx 3,5 x 3,5 m area recommended by developer) and it feels fantastic being able to move around freely in the entire kitchen. Tracking is spot on as usual on the Quest 2 and game mechanics are working as expected.
There is some minor polishing that could be done, like when finishing a burger by putting the crown (top bun) on the burger, the crown kind of snaps on automatically. I would have preferred to put it on myself but I guess it鈥檚 a choice made to make gameplay easier. Also, sometimes buns sink halfway down into cutting boards. These are very minor things that do not affect gameplay, and I鈥檓 sure it鈥檒l be fixed in upcoming versions.
Prepare to have a lot of fun and to work on your stress management skills. This game can work up a real sweat! (I鈥檓 not kidding, my Quest is soaked 馃ぃ)
The attached YouTube video shows some typical room scale gaming. Unfortunately my Quest 2 messed up the audio/video sync a bit during recording. In actual gameplay that鈥檚 not an issue.
Also, this is the first time the player in the video tries Sep鈥檚 Diner and one of her first times in any VR game, so at a few occasions she鈥檚 having some trouble gripping things (especially at the potato cutter) but I can assure everyone that has nothing to do with the game mechanics, it鈥檚 merely because of her lack in VR gaming experience. Anyone familiar with normal gripping techniques using the grip button will have no problem playing. It鈥檚 very similar to the well known Job Simulator title.
Highly recommended! At least give the free demo a try. 馃槉
