This game is really good. I enjoy the weapons (and there were a LOT of them available at the weapons shop when I checked) and the gameplay is pretty smooth, with only a bit of lag here and there on my Quest 2. There is a fair bit of lag in the home Cell, especially when looking out of one of the doors, though. That should be fixed or made less noticeable.
This game's clear inspiration of Blade and Sorcery is really apparent in the gameplay, and that's not a bad thing (the "ending drumbeat" for a round is basically identical to the one from B&S, to name one thing). I love Blade and Sorcery, so a chance to play a similar game when away from my PC was a no-brainer! As to the gameplay itself, I enjoy the Arena very much, even though there are a few things I'd change, which I'll list below.
First, the weapons don't have much, if any,"weight" to them (you can swing around your sword like it's made of tissue paper) and secondly, the force used to swing doesn't seem to add any extra damage to the enemy when hit. This can lead to the silly situation of wiggling your sword in their direction and their arm flies off (or they just die, as actual dismemberment remains difficult for me). I haven't unlocked the two-handed weapons yet, so perhaps the higher-tiered weapons do weigh more and deal more damage. Hoping that's the case, but the thing about using actual physical force to deal more damage (like B&S) should be implemented, if possible. Edit the next morning: I just went back in and kept trying to hit them harder, and it does actually seem to be hurting them more, so perhaps the second point is moot. Also, I went into the custom combat training and it's awesome. I could easily lose several hours in here now. I also used a few other weapons, like the mace, and that does have weight at the head, so that's the first point moot as well. Never mind!
I LOVE the archery. It's seriously the best thing. That may be because I'm rather good at archery from B&S, but the combat archery feels really good. (However, drawing arrows using the front trigger of the drawing hand feels odd; it really should be the drawing hand's grip trigger, as it's more natural, or maybe I'm just used to it.) Regardless of the arrow-drawing mechanics quirkiness, I reached wave 6 in about ten minutes using the bow alone, not to brag! I think I hit one guy in the eye through his helmet from across the arena, if the hitboxes are that detailed--he dropped from one shot, in any case. They finally succeeded in killing me, but man, that was fun! More arrow types, please--like broad-head ones that can slice and possibly dismember on a good shot.
Now, the frame-rate.... It's not the best, even on a Quest 2 (and using the "Quest 2" setting in the graphics menu, whatever that does). While in the Arena against multiple enemies (especially once you were facing five or six at once), the scene started to lag a bit every now and then, with the black edges of the screen "dragging" around as I moved my head. It clears up in a few seconds, but it is a bit distracting whenever it happens. The game stutters a bit during these moments, as well, which can lead to missed blows and enemies that appear to teleport. Frustrating but understandable, given what the Quest 2 is even attempting to do here, running a physics-based combat game for a mobile platform.
Overall, this game is seriously impressive and a ton of fun to play. I've only had it for about an hour and already love it. The bladed combat could be a bit more polished and the weapon physics could use a tweak here and there to be more accurate to real weapons, but the archery is on point and the wave progression is very fun and well-balanced. The animals could also be retooled to move more naturally, but they're pretty fun as well. This is a great game, easily worth a simple $15, and I hope it continues to be regularly updated--though it hasn't been in five months, so that's a bit concerning. Even if the game isn't updated again, it's more than worth buying as-is. I'm eager to unlock the other weapons and items when I can.
