I am a sucker for racing and flight simulators in VR; I just love them. One of the great things about Dart Racer is the skill-based controls that require good coordination, practice, and timing. That's one of the things that make a huge difference between a good racing game and a great one.
I love skill-based games where I need to get better and master the game. The controls are great with the Quest 2 controllers' 6DoF, allowing me to rotate the controller inwards and outwards to control the speed and rotation of the vehicle.
There is room for improvement, such as adding dynamic music, improving the sound effects, adding more unique tracks, unlockable content to make the game more rewarding, and arcade features, as well as online multiplayer to make it really shine. But again, it's still in early access (App Lab) at the time of reviewing the game.
The core gameplay itself is satisfying; it just needs more updates to blend everything into a fun, cohesive gameplay experience that will motivate players to come back for more.
In conclusion, I recommend Dart Racer and suggest keeping an eye out for new updates (I already saw one from 16 hours ago and can't wait for more!)
TIP: I recommend playing seated with a seat that has side handles. This provides great posture for playing the game for increased immersion and prevents hand fatigue if you plan on playing with your hands forward.
