Eat Some Mushrooms, Start Tripping, Serve Drinks - Trippy Tavern
Trippy Tavern is a bartender simulator. Its not your normal bartender sim though, eat start with eating a magic mushroom. Then you end up in a trippy world serving drinks, to some strange customers. Everything about this game is a trip. From the drinks you make and serve, the customers and the world you are submerged into. This is more then just a trippy world, its a good bartender sim at the same time. You will be put to the test to get the drinks served in time To make things more challenging there are game mods which can give you a benefit, something bad or just something straight out weird.
The game has two modes of play, casual and normal. In casual you have more time to serve the customers and can enjoy yourself in the game. In normal mode, it shorter times to serve, but you have a chance to unlock more modes of play. Either mode you pick, the gameplay is the same. Serve enough customers to earn money and ranks. use your money to buy new drinks to serve and pay your daily rent. Don't pay the rent its game over, starting fresh at the bottom again. The game mods though make each play through a little different and mix things up for you.
The world has a cartoon look to it. Sort of Smurf village, if the Smurfs where all on shrooms. The bar lay out is nice and a perfect size. I was able to stand and reach everything with just a taking a step, did not even need the control sticks. You do not need a big play space for this game, you can even play it sitting down. The character models are nicely done and fit right into the world. A few more models would be nice though. The items you interact with all feel the right size and look good as well. The music and sound effect are really nice and add to the immersive feel of the world.
The controls are very easy, you are mainly just moving your hands around picking up and dropping items. I did not even use the controls to move around or turn. I used roomscale to do pretty much everything. Like I said you do not need a lot of space to play. The interacting with items felt good. I did have a few problems grabbing some object, nothing game breaking though.
Over all this was a funny interactive bartender sim, with good replay value. The trippy world is a nice twist to the game. If you are into sim games and like to have fun, this is a great title. It could use some polish here and there, but nothing major. I had a lot of fun playing this game and am glad I got to experience it. I will for sure be eating the magic mushroom and jumping back in.
