Issue with "Start Stream" on SideQuest (Black screen with white rectangle)

I'm experiencing an issue with the "Start Stream" feature on SideQuest when trying to mirror my Meta Quest 2 screen to my PC. The connection is recognized normally, but when I start streaming, the screen appears completely black with a white rectangle in the corner.

I've checked cables, drivers, and headset permissions, but the issue persists. I'm attaching an image to show exactly how the screen looks during streaming.

Turn off or cover the proximity sensor to see the headset stream.

If you want to crop the video, please wait for an update or use scrcpy 3.2 from their Github.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I tried covering the proximity sensor, but unfortunately the result is the same — the screen still appears completely black with a white rectangle in the corner when I start the stream.

Let me know if there's anything else I can try.

As I've just mentioned, get scrcpy 3.2 from their GitHub and try that. If that doesn't work, then oculus.com/casting will work fine.

I fixed the video streaming issue on SideQuest with a workaround the dev team shared. It looks like Meta made some changes that broke the current scrcpy version used in the app. Here's what I did:

Download scrcpy version 3.2: 👉 ( https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/releases/tag/v3.2 )
Extract/unzip the downloaded file.
Copy all the files from the extracted folder.
Go to the folder where SideQuest is installed, for example: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SideQuest\scrcpy-win64-v2.0
Delete everything inside that folder, then paste the v3.2 scrcpy files there.

💡 Alternatively, you can also run scrcpy directly from CMD if needed.
