Stuck on "Checking APK against blacklist..."

I wanted to play a Steam VR game, but I struggled to. Luckily, the developer of the game posted the APK file so that I could download it directly to Quest.

I downloaded Sidequest, and I'm trying to download the APK file on my Quest 2 headset, but it's stuck on checking APK against a blacklist.

The connection status panel thing is all green. What should I do?

Hi,

Try a different connection, like using your phone as a hotspot and see if that helps.

Or use a free VPN like ProtonVPN.

Can you send the APK to bob@side.quest so I can test it, too? Or at least point me in the direction to the game.

If you continue to have issues, recommend that the dev puts the game on SideQuest or try to debug the SteamVR issue.
