I have a game application with obb file for its startup. How sidequest app on Quest install both the APK and obb files correctly? I found on the latest v64 oculus version third party application can't get the Android/obb/package-name permission any more.
Apps can’t read the folder, but they can still write to the location if they know where to write to. SideQuest only needs to write and it knows the location to write to.
I see on sidequest create app process you can upload the APK and obb files both. But I am wondering how sidequest app in Quest puts the obb file into right location as it should not have the OBB write permission. I also tried with PC sidequest and obb installation also failed which I don't know why from its error info. It should work with PC ADB command. What game are you refering to?
Do you have the SideQuest listing?
For game specific issues, please contact the developer of that game for technical support, as it may have bugs there not aware of.
I mean some apps have a big obb file with another standard Android APK file. Currently I just uploaded my APK and obb files in SideQuest 'My Apps'. I tried several apps in SideQuest app (by sideload way) but they all don't have a pre-install obb file. I don't know what will happen if I sideload my app from SideQuest app. It should also get failed normally. It's also wired because the SideQuest PC tool also failed on obb sideload step.
