i have tried everything, ive tried restarting my headset and pc ive tried updating my pc and quest, i even bought a whole new usb and nothing please someone help
On Headset go to settings - system - for developers - allow checkbox "MTP Notifications". Reboot headset. Connect USB Cable. Allow USB debug.
Quick solution in my case:
command
sc config Null start= system
sc start Null
in command promt.
Reason - Windows did not start Null device on startup. So ADB could not start ADB daemon.
FOUND A SOLUTION!
Download ADB tools
Copy to directory %username%/ADB
Start PowerShell
type:
cd ADB
ADB devices
got an error
- daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037 adb: CreateFileW 'nul' failed: Не удается найти указанный файл. (2)
- failed to start daemon
type:
ADB noserver daemon
DONT CLOSE POWERSHELL
CONNECT QUEST
GOT ADB AUTHORIZATION REQUEST!
as i guess, something in my system is blocking port tcp:5037
Yet i need to open powershell and type
ADB noserver daemon
every time i need to connect headset to PC
The same problem. Tried launching Side Quest from other PC, and it WORKED! I got the popup window in Quest 3 and was able to authorize the computer.
That was an old PC. And yet i cannot connect SideQuest on my brand new PC.
Tried all USB ports and tried booting Windows in safe mode. No results.
I dont want to make factory reset as doubt whether this will work. Have no other ideas.
Hello there,
Try restarting your headset and switching dev mode off and on.
A defective USB cable could be the culprit. Experiment with other cables you possess or borrow one before purchasing a new one. Try different USB ports and flip the Type-C end 180 degrees.
Re-verifying their developer account (using a credit card instead of a phone number), toggling dev mode, and factory resetting have worked for some users.
If possible, use another PC or the SideQuest app from the Android Play Store for testing.
Ensure you're on the Quest main account, not a secondary one.
Remember, Meta Quest Support is there to help.
Godspeed!
