Quest 2 can't install .apk probelm

I am a new VR headset user using quest 2 64gb version. Last week I tried to use sidequest(advanced installer) to side load some .apk file (VPN and web browser applications) & try to install in my quest 2, but it's not working. The status is either red/orange & not installing anything.

The installation of sidequest & applab applications are very smooth. Is that quest 2 not allowed to install .apk file anymore or do I miss some steps? Does it has any tutorial about install .apk files? Thanks in advance.

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out. If you go to the download page and you will find the Advanced Installer on the right, grab that instead. It allows you to install apk files.

I already used the Advanced Installer & it's apk sideload function, but still can't install any apk file (VPN and web browser applications)

Hello there,

You might be dealing with a faulty USB cable. Test with other cables you have on hand, or borrow one if possible, before considering a new purchase. Don't forget to experiment with different USB ports and rotating the Type-C end 180 degrees.

Should you momentarily establish a USB connection, switch to 'Enable wireless mode' in the SideQuest app.

For future convenience, consider using the easy installer to directly install SideQuest on your headset once you find a working cable.
