Installing Beat Saber Failed

I have tried multiple times to install beat saber straight from the meta store onto my quest 2 with no luck. Every time it completes the installation it just tells me to download again and I can never play the game. So finally I decided to try to download the game by installing the apk on sidequest. However when attempting to do this I am receiving this error.

A task failed. Check the tasks screen for more info. beat-saber.apk: : /data/local/tmp/_stream.apk could not be installed [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package com.beatgames.beatsaber signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring!]

It then suggests that I uninstall the app by going to the installed apps on sidequest and uninstalling. However this is obviously not possible as I do not have the app installed in the first place. Please help I am at my wits end with this thing today.

I've had the exact same issue! I suspect what happened is that at some point BeatSaber wasn't cleanly uninstalled, perhaps during an oculus update, but I'm not sure.

Here's the solution: in SideQuest (advanced installer), choose "Run ADB commands" on the top right, go to Custom Command, then type this command: adb uninstall "com.beatgames.beatsaber"

After that you should be able to install it again without errors.
