I've been tackling the issue of failed APK installations via SideQuest on the Oculus Quest 2 and found several effective solutions:
Examine the Error Message: -Check the specific error under the "Running tasks" in SideQuest. -Google the error message along with the app's name for community-found solutions.
Retry Installing the APK: -Sometimes, repeating the process can resolve transient errors. -Alternatively, try installing the APK via ADB command line in SideQuest.
Try a Different APK Version: -If a specific version fails, downloading and trying another version might help. -Websites like APKPure often host multiple versions of an app.
Resolve Common APK Install Errors: -For "No device connected" errors, ensure proper SideQuest setup and headset connection. -If encountering "INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE", uninstall the existing app version before attempting to install the new one.
Reinstall SideQuest: -If all else fails, a fresh install of SideQuest might resolve underlying issues. -Ensure all steps in the official setup tutorial are followed.

Hey there!
This error - INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE - means the app you want to install is already installed and the installed version is newer than the one you want to install. To work around this uninstall the app first then try again.
You may need to uninstall it from all accounts on your headset.
It is recommended that you uninstall it from the desktop SideQuest app if you don't see it in unknown sources. You can do that in the my apps screen on the SideQuest app where you can find the app using its name or package name ( like net.kdt.pojavlaunch for QuestCraft ). Click the cog wheel icon then on uninstall.
