Sidequest shutting down my phone!?!?!

Sidequest installer keeps shutting down my phone when im looking up games and trying to install them the mobile way. I watched the "how to video" and got the light green, but then my phone just shuts off. I cant enable the wifi either to connect wirelessly, cause it keeps saying i might have to turn on wifi inside the headset... I'm going nuts trying to figure it out!!! Using Quest 2, ans Samsung galaxy 8+ which does have OTG

This issue can happen when quest is connected to the phone and the phone thinks you want to charge the device. As the battery isn't strong enough it eventually shuts the phone off.

For the wireless part you may need to manually enter the IP address if OTG is not identifying it correctly.

So do i make sure my phone and Quest 2 is fully charged? My ip address shows up in the bix in the enable wifi section though. When i click connect, thats when it says i might need to do it in the headset, but i dont know where that would be..

No its not related to how charged they are, the headset is trying to use the phone incorrectly. You could try to uninstall the app then reinstall and see if the phone asks you what you want to do, in which case you would select 'data transfer' so it know not to charge.

When you enable sideloading, one of the steps is to put the headset on and accept 'USB Debugging' - you won't be able to sideload until you accept that message in the headset.
