Not Authorized (No USB Debugging Prompt)

When attempting to connect my Quest 2 to Sidequest on my PC I am able to get all lights green except for the last one stating “not authorized.” I have researched so much support and have ran out of ideas to attempt. I believe the issue is I am not able to accept any “Allow USB Debugging” prompts as I see in all tutorials. I am able to accept the first prompt to “share media” but never get the second. I am using the latest versions of both Quest and Sidequest. I am using USB-A to USB-C. Developer mode is confirmed to be on. Different cables have been used. PC and Quest have been reset. USB Dialogue option has been flipped on and off. Developer mode has been disabled and re-enabled. I’ve plugged in while Sidequest is open and closed. Unfortunately no suggestions in support have worked for me. If anyone has any other suggestions that you found helpful please let me know. I believe I just need the last prompt and everything should be okay.

Hello there,

It might be worth restarting your headset, also disabling and re-enabling dev mode.

You may also have a faulty USB cable. Try a few spare cables you may have or if possible, borrow one just to be sure before potentially buying a new one. Also try using different USB ports as well as flipping the type C end around 180 degrees.

In some cases users have had to re-verify their developer account too ( by adding a credit card rather than a phone number ). In some cases toggling dev mode and factory resetting has also helped.

If possible, try using another PC from a friend or family member too and try the SideQuest app from the play store on Android.
