I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong or if its actually broken. In the sidequest app if I choose to change refresh rate or resolution, nothing seems to happen. I've heard the virtual environment doesnt change anymore when it used to. But any game I install through the oculus store or sidequest store, the resolution will not change. It just stays low. Any advice would be great.
were do you go to get to headset settings to change refresh rates
You're also correct about the setting not changing in the home environment.
Hello there,
Do you have OVR installed to see the frame rate numbers?
What games have you tried this on?
I'll see if I'm able to change the settings on my end and make them stick, then I'll get back to you.
Godspeed.
Thanks for the reply. I do have it installed but I never looked at it. Games I've tried were the National geographic one, a bowling game which I forget the name of, and the Miku game. I'll check later for proper names. Theres plenty of others but I havent really messed with them. I tried one PCVR game but that looked fine since I was still connected with a cable.
These settings won't work with PCVR games. Just standalone.
Oh yes, PCVR games are not my issue. Its all the oculus ones. While the framerate I'll check with that program, the resolution 100% does not change. IT stays the same smeary looking thing with the shimmering and jagged unaliased edges on every straight line on anything thats about 2-3 yards from the character. If this was like a $100 headset I'd say fine, but its kind of pricey. And I dont recall the first oculus looking this horrid.
It might be worth just running OVR on a few games just to make sure of the frame rate change. You may even see GPU utilization go up with the resolution if you have that metric showing too.
