Android SideQuest App Not Getting Perms

I connected my android phone to the quest and I'm able to access the quests files but the SideQuest app doesn't and only continues to spam the notification asking for permission with no clear way of giving it

How do you give the SideQuest app permission to the quests files or how would I install the SideQuest app manually to use my pc instead

Hello there,

It sounds like you may have a faulty USB cable. Try a few spare cables you may have or if possible, borrow one just to be sure before potentially buying a new one. Also, try using different USB ports and flipping the type C end around 180 degrees.

If you’re able to get a USB connection even for just a moment, use the ‘Enable wireless mode’ in the SideQuest app.

I would recommend using the easy installer next time you find a working cable and put Sidequest straight onto the headset.

If I can access the quests files how is it faulty? I get the connection but it doesn't let me open it with SideQuest only my file manager and other default apps So as I said if there is another way to give permission to SideQuest to access the quest other than the notification or a way I can put SideQuest on manually I'd prefer those solutions

Have you turned on dev mode on the Quest?

That might be the issue I enabled dev mode awhile ago but I guess they updated the requirements I'll connect a phone number and enable dev mode again and see if it works

Adb has strict conditions to work over USB. If you normally see the file manager prompt instead of the debug authorization then the USB or port could be faulty. Try a new cable and see how it goes.
