sidequest list of installed app does not refresh

After installing an app on my oculus quest 2, the list of installed apps does not refresh correctly. The app is present in the filesystem, but in the list of installe app it does not appear. Is there a way to let SideQuest be aware of the correct list of apps?

Hello there,

What app are you trying to install?

If you're using Advanced installer then you may have just transferred the file over without installing it.

If you've installed it correctly then it will appear in the unknown sources.

I hope that helps. I'll follow up with how to find your SideQuest apps.

Hey there!

Inside your headset, on the home screen, you'll see a button on the right with a 3x3 square grid inside it labelled 'App Libary', click that and go to the top right of the new window that pops up and you'll see 'All', click that and select 'Unknown Sources' at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Now you'll see all the games you've installed from SideQuest and then be able to select them to start playing!

Thank you, Bobworks. Indeed the app is installed, since I can find it in my oculus menu app, under "origini sconosciute" (Italian version of "unknown origin" or somethng like that, I guess), BUT the sideQuest does not show it in the list of installed apps. A dark mystery...

How did you install the game/app, could you talk me through the flow? Links to screenshots will help a lot too. I'll see if I can spot the problem and resolve this for you.

Thank you again. I wrote the app with unity, compiled, obtained the .apk file and saved it on hard drive. Then I open SideQuest, connect it to OculusQuest2, clicked on the "allow" button to properly connect. On sideQuest I select "install APK file from folder on computer" icon, seek it on hard drive and click on it. SideQuest took one or two seconds (the app is quite small) to install (you know, the reddish bar at the bottom of the screen) then the bar become green, saying "success! ok". I get back to oculus, and find the app under the "unknown origin" button. The app does not start (that is a completely dfferent problem, other apps that did non start were listed in the app list in sideQuest). I get back to sideQuest, click on the "currently installed apps" icon. The new app does not appear.

Did I misunderstand the way an app has to be installed? Thanks.
