Enjoy soaring, grappling, climbing, bullet-timing, and literally "jogging" around a retro-style "pellet-man" game world inspired by the famous arcade game with a similar name.

What if you were "inside" the arcade game?

And what if you had some new tools at your disposal, like bullet time, grappling hooks, jumping and soaring?

What if you could physically JOG IN PLACE to move instead of using the thumbstick or teleport to gobble up those power pellets?

How would you use all of these new tools to collect all the pellets and get the highest score? It's all up to you!

See if your score gets you on the top ten online leaderboard! (Enter your player name for the leaderboard in the middle of the "playground" climbing area that is behind you before you press new game). You have to set this each time if you want your score to record.

Supports Quest 1, Quest 2 and on the Github page or the "Other Store Listings" for Oculus Rift on this page, PCVR via OpenXR.

UPDATE (6/5/2022): Fixed bug where powerpellets/energizers did not respawn on new game or new level.

Customizable Controls:

Other than the right hand being the designated "pointer hand" using trigger to control menus, controls are totally customizable, including switching movement hand to left hand, enabling teleport locomotion, switching between snap and smooth turn and switching all of the button mapping. Note, though, the game doesn't help check if your button assignments conflict or correct you, so if you end up with a really bad layout, just exit the game and restart.

Multiplayer:

Experimental support for local multiplayer. ONLY supports seeing the other player, you are each in your own "game world" otherwise (other game objects and ghosts are not shared between players). There is a multiplayer menu in the middle of the playground climbing area near the leaderboard and player name entry. To create a local multiplayer game:

(1) Have any local players select "ENet" as the type of networking in the top left corner of the networking menu (2) Have one select "as server" in the top right corner (3) Have the other local players select "local network" in the top right corner to join up together. I have only been able to do limited testing with two players....

Theoretically, people can join up online if you leave the default networking option on the left top side of the menu and on the right side someone selects "as server" and other people choose "as necessary" but I have so little confidence in that working well that we can call it a "pre-pre-alpha feature" LOL.

Background

Background: I created this open-source free game as a hobby over the past two months while learning the Godot Engine to try to see what it was like to make a VR game. I am a total noob, and this is a very basic game. I'm totally NOT a "real" game dev. Don't worry, I'm not "quitting my day job!" :) I was originally just going to play this game with my friends and family but at the end of the day I figured if only one other person in the world enjoys it a bit, it's worth spending the half hour to put it up on side quest.

Credits and Other Info:

Full default control instructions, credits, source code, known issues and other game info is available at: https://github.com/teddybear082/Godot_XR_Networking-Plus-Game. I used a lot of free open-source assets to make this game, which I credit on the github page.
