HANDTRACKING & ROOMSCALE EXPERIENCE
Based on the monomyth of the Hero’s Journey and inspired by indigenous ceremony design, The Shape Of Us offers a deep dive into our assumptions and attitudes towards our role as humans on Planet Earth. Its main game mechanics are body motion and interactive storytelling as well as conscious moments of intention setting and stillness.
The players are guided through the wastelands of human civilization, ventured into the Unknown and rewarded with a sense of one-ness and community. Our intention is to nurture a healthy relationship between humans, non-humans and technology, to foster synergies between art, education, game design and embodied practices (such as Gestalt Therapy or Somatic Experiencing), and ultimately to inspire the players to (re)connect and listen to their inner wisdom.
THE SHAPE OF US was developed by the German Lab for Soulful Civic education HeartWire in collaboration with the Dutch game studio Monobanda and funded by Robert Bosch Foundation with the aim of providing hands-on data on VR and educational practices.
