AR/MR App for Visualization Thyroid Phantom

An interactive AR/MR application for visualizing 3D models from an anatomical atlas of human organs (organs of the neck, upper torso, and head) and medical scans (MRI, CT, ultrasound), with hand-tracking controls on the Quest 3 headset.

Key Features:

  • Hand Controls: Use hand tracking and gestures to interact with the interface.

  • Data Visualization:
    • Display 3D organ models (thyroid phantom, neck, upper torso, and head organs);
    • Load and process medical scans (DICOM/.dcm – a folder containing this data) with rendering settings (transparency, isosurfaces), slice adjustments, and light/radiation permeability settings;
    • Visualization modes: anatomical atlas, schematic representation.

  • AR Mode: Overlay 3D models onto the real environment via Quest 3’s Passthrough camera.

  • PC Integration: Use Quest 3 as a visualization device with a PC as the computing unit.

Applications: Medical training, diagnostics, and medical data presentations in AR.
