Oz Odyssey: Guardians of the Emerald City is an immersive VR and MR experience that reimagines the timeless tale of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz through two captivating modes: Story Mode and Multiplayer Tower Defense Mode. Designed exclusively for standalone VR headsets like the Meta Quest, the game offers players the opportunity to relive iconic moments from the Oz universe while introducing new adventures that blend storytelling, strategy, and action.

In Story Mode, players step into Dorothy’s shoes and embark on a richly detailed, narrative-driven journey across the magical land of Oz. Players will traverse vibrant environments — from the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City — solving puzzles, making crucial decisions, and interacting with beloved characters like the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion. The story captures the emotional depth and wonder of the original book while introducing interactive mechanics that allow players to physically engage with the world through VR technology.

Meanwhile, the Multiplayer Tower Defense Mode expands the saga beyond its original conclusion. After rescuing the Wizard of Oz from the Wicked Witch’s dark spell, players find themselves thrust into an urgent battle to defend the recovering Emerald City. As the Witch mounts a devastating invasion, Dorothy and her friends must stand as the city's last line of defense. Armed with magical weapons bestowed by the Wizard — such as enchanted guns, a majestic sun scepter, and a powerful crossbow — players work together in a shared MR battlefield. They place defensive towers, engage in real-time combat, upgrade their defenses, and survive escalating waves of enemies.

Oz Odyssey is built using Unity’s advanced VR frameworks, incorporating the VRIF (VR Interaction Framework) for intuitive interaction, immersive locomotion, and a smooth gameplay experience. The game leverages Mixed Reality to blend the player's real environment with virtual structures, allowing for a physically active and socially engaging gameplay experience.
