It's generally a well understood thing that ads/requests for donations mid game push people away. Especially when those things interrupt something like a rhythm game, where when resuming, you will miss notes. Like I said, if you had those requests as banners on the menus that'd work out well.

Also, yes, I even rather outright pay for a game over having one that interrupts me to ask for money. And I said you chose one of the worst methods to ask for money, not the worst monetization method.

You're right about monetization vs asking for money. Thank you for your opinion. I am planning to experiment with different strategies. But I wonder how would you back up your statements: "generally a well understood" and "banners on the menus that'd work out well". For the latter - how can you be sure? Do you have experience when it comes to marketing and business models?

Look at the most successful donationware games and software and how they got continued support for so long. DF being the most well known. Experience in a field means little in this sort of thing. You don't have to be a chef. That's just my take on it, You're more than free to do things however you want.
