Ghostbusters Rise Of The Ghost Lord is out now and just in time for Halloween! This game is a pure nostalgic thing for me and it has been most most anticipated VR game for a while. the reviews are all bad on Meta Quest Store but I have a bit of a different opinion. The game is beautiful with its cell shaded graphics and makes me feel like you are playing in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon from the 80's. The tutorial is pretty cool and sets the motions for the Story Mode which has a decent play and great voice acting. Once you get to the Ghostbusters Headquarter is where it all really starts. You are first greeted by another teammate but what really takes the show is you are able to see the Ecto-1 for the first time and its insane! The HQ has several things you can do like upgrading your Proton Pack, PKE Meter, and even your Ghost Trap. There is also customization of the Proton Pack for different perks and cosmetics. You can also check out the Containment Unit, which is kind of like you bestiary to find info on all the ghosts you have caught. There is even a shooting range that allows you to train your ghostbusting skills! HQ is also where you select your characters. With this being 4 player Coop, each character has its own design and its pretty easy to tell who is who. You can also choose your missions here. Each area is broken down into 3 different modes which use each map in a different way. Giga Trap Retrieval is basically securing a package before it explodes. Harvester allows you to collect ghosts into a canisters and place them on the Ecto-1. And finally, On The Clock which has you closing portal of ghosts before the timer runs out. The combat to catch the ghosts is very simple and easy. Unfortunately, it can be a bit repetitive which leads me to think why people are hating on the game. It does worry me for the replay value of the game because it can be boring really fast, but this game really shines with the fun of being a Ghostbuster in Coop with friends. This game is for anyone who 90's baby and wants to relive their childhood and become a Ghostbuster. I do not think the game deserves the hate, but it does have its flaws.
