The Virtual Gallery – the Academy’s Young Artists Museum – was created in 2020 in the face of the new challenges brought to our lives by the global pandemic. The forced closure of our gallery in Kraków at Sławkowska 12 inspired us to work towards opening an unlimited space for promoting our artists through complete immersion in the virtual world. The shape of the building, the irregular hexagon, was inspired by a stork’s nest, a very important symbol in Polish art. Here, it becomes a birthplace of new art, stirring our thoughts and aesthetic sensitivity.

Thanks to the support from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, as well as a magnificent team of young architects and programmers, we have created a spacious exhibition of 1300 square metres, where you can see monumental sculptures and almost 120 paintings and prints, many of which are already in private collections all over the world. When you switch on the sound, you will year our artists’ own thoughts on the world of their inspirations, explorations, deliberations and struggles with the matter of art.
