After a two-year hiatus (CuriousVR was off crafting magic on a contract with Meta), the project is back and better than ever, now optimized for the Quest 3. HISTORY

CHM released in the summer of 2020. Quest1 players could experience mapping out their entire home and playing a collection of games that adapted to unique, multiple-room layouts.

In 2021 Meta Quest released Passthrough API. The mapper games were updated include a mix of real and virtual elements. New games were added as well as social multiplayer features. Players could customize their own spaces, host guests and visit others. Thanks to early adopters and enthusiastic Redditors, CHM became the top-selling Quest app on Itch.io.

In 2022 CuriousVR was hired by Meta/Oculus for a two year contract, working on the upcoming Quest3 as well as MRUK (the Mixed Reality Utility Kit.) CHM development went silent until...

October 2024, I'm back! Mapper has been updated to include many of the newest Quest3 features (auto-scene setup, color passthrough, boundary-less.)

A new version of Custom Home Mapper will (finally) be coming to the Quest store. Wishlist now, releases April 11th 2025.
