Enso is a simple (but awesome) app to promote focus. Most people would label Enso as a "meditation app" and there is a lot of truth in that. As someone who assiduously tests nearly every VR meditation title, I'd say Enso is "meditation-adjacent" insofar as it promotes a flow state, but doesn't employ strict breathing techniques. Instead, Enso uses a gaming mechanic whereby the user draws circles around glowing orbs. It is a very simple mechanic, although the developers have carefully designed it in a way to promote deep relaxation and focus. Let me be clear--Enso is NOT a game; it merely uses a gaming mechanic to achieve a meditative focus/flow state. The graphics and sound design are purposefully minimalist but beautiful--striking the perfect balance of enhancing the experience without distracting from the practice.
I've been really surprised at how much I like Enso; I've used it for the last 18 days without fail and run through every module at least twice (some 3 times). The only significant complaint is that there is no way to adjust the session time. Each of the modules is ~4.5 minutes, but I'd really like the option for longer/infinite sessions. That said, Enso is a very satisfying app that I recommend to anyone interested in meditation. If you're a VR-meditation enthusiast (i.e. someone who regularly uses VR for their meditation practice), then Enso is absolutely worth buying. It's a great tool that will silence the chatter in your mind.
