PRIMITIVE is an Immersive Development Environment that displays code as a 3D interactive model in VR. The VR interface allows for a large amount of data about the program to be displayed. Code architecture and relationships are represented in a spatial layout in the environment. A runtime visualization can animate the model to show a program executing (Java only). Visualizations such as the color-coded execution profile timeline and the heatmap identify areas of performance bottlenecks.

For Developers: Primitive supports analyses of Java, C#, or JavaScript code. In this demo, pre-selected open source Java programs have been included. Suggestions are welcome for projects that developers would like to see.

Not a developer? Use this demo to immerse yourself in code to learn! Primitive uses spatial and visual data to convey the design of a program. It has been created by a team from a wide range of backgrounds.

• When a user lands on a GitHub repository, they will be able to see and speak with other users who are on the same repository in the GitHub graph
