FPS ENHANCED REALITY is a Mixed Reality passthrough game for Meta Quest 2 that allows players to define walls as 3D models. The built-in editor in this first-person shooter mixed reality allows players to define walls as 3D models that can be used by the game. Any space, no matter how big or small, can use it. Setting up the environment takes some time, but you only need to do it once, and it will be saved for your subsequent session.

The preferred way is to use depth scanning technology, object recognition, and smart to automate the creation process and detect all walls and objects in the scene. However, since the Quest 2 VR headset (for which this app is optimized for) does not support this technology, a manual 3D reconstruction of the actual scene is required. Additionally, because everything is in cubic shape, occlusion isn't ideal for many intricate real-world objects. It is not the fault of the app, but a limitation of the Quest 2 VR headset.

I didn't have a large space to make the best of it and I think if you have a larger space, you'll have an even better experience than I had. Still, there are many places where this game can be improved, both gameplay and UI wise.. That being said, I praise the developer who put the effort to try to bring a better mixed reality experience to the Quest 2 with all its current limitations.

The cover system is ingenious idea and gives you a glimpse of what future mixed reality games can be like once all these technologies are in the developer's hands.

This is a must-play for any mixed reality enthusiast who doesn't own a mixed reality headset like the MagicLeap or HoloLens and still wants to get a feel for what it's like and not through a mobile phone screen. Great work and can't wait for the updates to come. I'll be the first in line to try those out!

NOTE: it might be a beat overwhelming at first for some, but you only need to setup the space once and you are good to go.
