Excellent app for anyone who want to learn how to play the piano at home but doesn't know where to start. This is one of the best uses of Quest 2 Passthrough feature I have ever seen. I cannot wait to see what this app will look like when we finally get colorful passthrough!

It uses hand tracking, and you can connect your MIDI keyboard directly to Quest and not worry about the hand tracking accuracy as the information about the keys you're hitting will be sent directly from your keyboard. In this app, you can play classical songs of different difficulties, learn how to read notes, and even upload your own MIDI songs. This really motivated me to pick up my old hobby again! Excellent work Zac!

Hey zac,

I have been using the piano vision app for four weeks now. I love it!

But lately, I've had a few ideas that would benefit other users and me!

  1. The uploaded midi files dont seem to work with hand position suggestions; that would be very helpful

  2. Having ghost hands that you can follow would also be useful when learning a song so that you dont have to think about hand position. You can just follow the ghost's hands.

  3. In the future, allowing users to record themselves playing and allowing other users to access that file could help you learn to play piano like your favorite pianist.

Im dedicated to this app, I put it on my 66-year-old grandpa, and he couldn't stop smiling! I truly believe in this project. And im willing to test out these experimental features.

Add me as a friend on sidequest and we can talk!

Thanks, Marcus
